Remembering Our World War II Veterans




Cpl. Albert Vaccaro, U.S. Army (killed in action)
Joined the U.S. Army before the War.  Was Stationed in the Philippines on December 7, 1941.  Captured by the Japanese and endured the "Bataan Death March."  Died on May 17, 1942, at the infamous "Camp O'Donnell." Pacific Theatre.





Capt. William A. Nurthen, US Army
​U.S. Army 10th Armored Division.  Served in England, Belgium, France, and Germany.  Fought at the "Battle of the Buldge", December 1944.  Received 1 Silver Star, 2 Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart. European Theatre.







Sgt. Pasquale J. Simonetti, US Army
U.S. Army, front-line artillery, directed fire.  Served in England, Belgium, France, and Germany. Fought at the "Battle of the Buldge", December 1944.  European Theatre.



Seaman, Richard E. English, Jr., U.S. Navy
Drafted and served as a trainer and mail director.

The Township of Ocean Historical Museum, founded in 1984, is a member-supported, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey. Its headquarters, the Eden Woolley House, is one of the few 18th-century structures still in existence in the Township. The museum serves as the ancestral home to every citizen of the Township of Ocean. The Township of Ocean Historical Museum offers exhibits on the history of coastal Monmouth County and a full calendar of events. The Museum is also 100% volunteer supported, with no paid staff.
